Controls Systems Engineer

Lone Star Corporation has an opening for a full time Controls System Engineer to expand our efforts in the fast paced, and growing oil and gas market. The Engineer would work within the I/E & Controls Systems Department. Responsible for the work on control systems, engineering, PLC's and designs for large industrial projects in midstream gas processing, petroleum refining, petrochemical and upstream oil & gas industries. The ideal candidate would be a self-starter, reliable and produce quality work.

Essential Functions

  • Act as a control systems engineer for selected projects
  • Interact with other engineering disciplines, engineering and construction project managers, and clients
  • Provide input to the initial project schedule and support the regular maintenance of project schedules for designated projects.
  • Work process quality review, and drawing approval.
  • Plan and implement procedures and systems to maximize process efficiency
  • Able to work under pressure and coordinate numerous activities
  • Self-motivated with ability to work with others

Position Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing to various levels within the organization.
  • Detail-oriented and strong communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
  • Experience in Electrical Engineering or B.S. in Engineering with equivalent I/E & control systems experience required
  • 5+ years' experience required, 10+ years preferred
  • Experience with Allen Bradley Control Logix PLCs and Wonderware HMI development
  • Experience with Modicon PLC's and Unity pro software
  • Experience with RedLion HMI's and Crimson software
  • Experience with Delta V Programming experience
  • Record of success working in a team culture
  • Professional and ethical
  • Strong Computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Well developed, detail oriented organizer
  • Must be able to travel locally each day
