Materials Technician

Reporting to the Construction Consultant, the Materials Technician is responsible for performing duties related to materials distribution, and warehouse operations. This position is responsible to gather and process paperwork on equipment, warehouse stock, and tank battery bidding processes and deliveries. Makes entries and updates into the inventory management software system including materials and equipment transfers. Principal Duties & Responsibilities The following represents the majority of the duties performed by the position, but is not meant to be at all-inclusive or nor prevent other duties from being assigned when necessary:

  • Communicates with internal personnel, including Construction Foremen,  Engineers, as well as third party supply vendors, regarding issues, such as materials availability, appropriate substitutions, and delivery logistics
  • Assists with tank battery material purchases and deliveries:
  • Assists with inspections process to ensure the accuracy and quality of ordered materials
  • Responsible to update spreadsheet on verifications of line item shipments from vendors, back-orders and stock level inventory
  • Compares delivery tickets with invoices to insure correct charges from outside vendors
  • Writes and enters materials transfers for items
  • Assists with verification and tracking of all production site materials
  • Other tasks as assigned

Skills & Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of twoe years of oil and gas industry experience required; basic materials handling, inventory management, and accounting principles highly preferred
  • Proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Office
  • Must be detail oriented with the ability to multi-task
  • Must be team player that possess the ability to adapt to a changing and fast paced work environment
  • Must have valid drivers license and good record
