Panel Shop Manager

Lone Star Corporation is searching for a full time Panel Shop Manager. Looking for a candidate that has a history leading a successful operation.  The ideal candidate will be confident, able to independently take action & initiative, have the ability to make decisions and take responsibility. Changing conditions will require the skill to adjust quickly and come up with practical ideas for handling these situations.  The panel shop manager will be responsible for overseeing and coaching the panel shop team in the day-to-day production assembly of industrial control panels to customer specification. This is a hands-on position that requires self-discipline, competitive drive, high quality and strong organizational skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analyze and interpret all project related documents (electrical, mechanical, architectural, etc.) to accurately quantify all controls and instrumentation required prior to design.
  • Produce accurate control system and control panel design drawings using AutoCAD.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize projects in accordance with deadline requirements.
  • Strong software knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • PLC and related control system programming including HMI/GUI system programming and configuration for PLCs, HMIs, Networking Components and Software Packages.
  • Hire, manage, and evaluate staff.
  • Create and maintain a safe workplace
  • Any other duties as assigned


  • Proficiently read, understand and work from wiring schematics
  • Determine the most practical and efficient layout of the required components for a panel both internal and external
  • Mount all required components for a panel
  • Wire the panel based on electrical drawings
  • Markup electrical and layout drawings during construction to accurately reflect the panel
  • Markup the Bill of Material as components are received or added/removed from the panel
  • Label the major components of a panel
  • Safely operate a variety of power tools
  • Test completed panels to ensure quality production
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with internal and external customers



Position Requirements

  • Proven track record of success in similar role
  • At least 2 years' experience
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal and leadership abilities
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office and office management software
  • Proficiency in English however ability to speak fluent Spanish is preferred
  • Must have valid driver's license



Compensation will be a yearly salary plus production bonus. Salary depends on experience.
